Limerick Writing Contest

To become one of three winners of Limerick Writing Contest you must adhere to following rules (in Bold):

Submit original Limerick (… meaning it’s never been published before and adheres to proper format – five lines with rhyme pattern AABBA…) thematically based on one of three categories: – (state category) –
1. New Jersey (NJ) location – example: NJ shore site, NJ town/city, NJ tourist attraction/locale, etc.
2. NJ personality – example: Bruce Springsteen, Frank Sinatra, Thomas Edison, Chris Christie, etc.
3. NJ story line/event – example: Jersey Devil, NJ Devils win Stanley Cup, Hurricane Sandy, etc.
Send entries to:

Specify local restaurant of choice (each winner receives $50 gift certificate to specified restaurant – make sure they offer gift certificates).
Include self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) so we can send feedback and contest results – with two stamps on SASE since it may require extra postage – in lieu of stamps include $1 bill inside envelope.
Provide following information:
o Current name (first & last) (middle initial optional).
o Current email address – in case we need to get in touch sooner.
o Current mailing address – even though already on SASE.
o Any nicknames you may have… or names of pets you may have…
For extra credit, include original drawing to support entry.
– Optional, but may work in your favor – but only if drawing is magnifico…
Provide additional info. as desired – like brother is a leprechaun or mother is Easter Bunny… anything nonsensical may work in your favor.
Mail entry no later than deadline: April 15, 2025. If you still need to do taxes for 2024, you may want to work on that instead. Winners announced May 12th – National Limerick Day.
